First Analysis

Factual: This image was taken by Annie Lebovitz in 2003 who is an American portrait photographer. She started her career taking pictures for the Rolling Stones magazine and has more recently done a Walt Disney campaign for Disneyland.

Context: This picture is called Drink Me and was taken in 2003 as part of Vogues 'Alice in Wonderland' set, featuring the model Natalia Vodianova as Alice. The set included pictures from scenes taken out of the movie such as the mad hatters tea party and Alice falling down the rabbit hole.

Technical: I think she took this photo in a studio but some were taken outside in a forest. The designer who designed this dress has been photo shopped into the background of this photo, appearing in the frame on the wall.

Aesthetic: You can tell this photograph is based on Alice in Wonderland because of the fairytale feel the picture gives. I like how she has crammed lots of detail into the background which I think makes the dress stand out. I liked this picture the best out of the set because it makes you focus on the model but at the same time has so much more to look at.
